Laguna Beach

This year we gave the kids the option of opting out of gifts from Santa.  Instead they could get a trip to Disneyland.  The kids immediately replied they wanted Disneyland.  In looking for a hotel we stumbled across condos.  We found a condo 1 mile from the park that could sleep our 7.   We did not have to get multiple rooms at a hotel.  Megan did a great job of organizing and planning the trip.

So we arrived in California on Thursday the 23rd of December. Our kids have never set foot on a real beach.  The lady that rented us the condo recommended we go to Laguna Beach instead of Newport Beach.  It was about 15 minutes further.  What she didn’t know was that with all of the rain in the past couple days that the canyon to get to Laguna Beach was closed due to flooding (we saw video of houses floating on the news).  A policeman at the roadblock suggested another route that added another 30 minutes.  I was waiting for the

complaints from the kids, but they were so excited they did not complain.  We arrived at Laguna Beach as the sun was setting.  It was beautiful.  The kids shed their close as quick as they could (they had swimsuits on underneath) and ran in the water.  Even though the water was a little cold the kids had a blast!
